A quick « random thought » post, just to tell you about a crazy phenomenon… that you’re probably already aware of. Behold the always interesting All-Time Worldwide Box Office grosses chart.

The everlasting champion Titanic saw its $1,8B-record (since 1997) surprisingly crushed by Avatar and its crazy $2,7B in 2009. Who would have thought… And that’s when things started to be shaken up. Before that, the chart was pretty « old-fashioned »: a few big movies (more and more franchises) with big numbers from time to time, but breaking into the the All-Time Top 10 was always a huge accomplishment, felt like it was for good! Wrong.

Now if you look closely… The rarely-alterated chart seems to have grown younger lately. 6 of the 10 biggest worldwide grosses are associated with movies that were released within the last three years. 3 YEARS! The common denominator? They’ve all been released in 3D. And since 3D movie tickets are more expensive than « regular » movies, the whole phenomenon is pretty simple and logical. Now, is it a good thing? That’s another debatable story, about which I have a very clear opinion. It’s only the beginning!

Sounded like some pretty… disturbing facts to me.

I know I’ve been talking a lot about music lately, but isn’t it strange that my last two musical crushes, the two I’ve been swamping you with, are somewhat linked? Adele recently admitted that her 21 album has been inspired partially by her love for another great album, Mumford & Sons‘ 2009 Sigh No More… This is just crazy. And makes total sense. The love in my heart makes total sense.

But… Who’s who ?

Pour combler un trou dans les nouvelles pour cause de trou dans le temps (ça va de pair), voici une photo illustrant bien la palette de personnages que l’on peut croiser quotidiennement  à Hollywood et alentours…! Un sans-abri fort sympathique que je croise régulièrement, ici inhabituellement costumé, avec sa nouvelle amie le mannequin de vitrine qu’il a dû choper quelque part et habiller soigneusement… Tout ça fait avec amour (et les bisous sur le front qui vont avec). haha!

On ne s’en lasse plus… Et lui non plus, apparemment. Après l’article La Suisse et la Libye, une grande histoire d’amour, voici le deuxième chapitre des joyeuses déclarations d’amour du colonel. Affolante, la connerie humaine; même s’il fallait s’y attendre. 

J’ai oublié de vous en parler dès septembre dernier quand je suis arrivé ici, mais est-ce que vous vous souvenez de cet article qui date du mois de juin, lorsque je gambadais en Australie? Voici son article-jumeau. Parce que oui, à Los Angeles aussi, on doit tirer sur une corde dans le bus pour pouvoir sortir à l’arrêt suivant. Ah, ces anglophones…
